Methyl cellulose must be soaked prior to use. It’s dilution will vary upon the recipe it is used for. Basic instructions are to sprinkle 5 tablespoons of Methyl Cellulose into 1 cup of very hot water. Use of a whisk or stick blender is necessary to agitate the mixture while adding the dry methyl cellulose. Once incorporated, add enough additional water to make one quart while continuing to mix. Let this blended mixture soak for several hours to overnight.
